Date Posted: Human Resources Manager Classification: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP Location: Halifax, NS - Following a three-month in-office probationary period, this role transitions to a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days per week in the office. The HR Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources support to YWCA Halifax, with a particular focus on recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle administration.
This position requires a self-motivated and detail-oriented HR professional who is skilled at coordinating recruitment activities, supporting hiring managers, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will help attract and retain talented employees while ensuring HR practices are efficient, compliant,
and aligned with organizational values. The HR Coordinator must exercise the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of their work.
Bachelor's Degree/Certificate in Human Resource Management, Business or Labour Relations. ~1-3 years of experience in a human resource of administrative role. ~ Superior organizational and administrative skills, superior knowledge of current computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet software. ~ Knowledge of and willingness to support feminist values, services focused on the needs of women and girls, and gender diverse persons. Process criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks when requested Manage all required HR forms Ensure employees have required training (first aid, WHMIS) and arrange training opportunities Maintain a list of employment centres, websites and organizations for job postings Liaise with IRCC to provide appropriate documentation and support for foreign workers Partner with local universities and other external partners to advertise job opportunities Identify and pursue opportunities for personal and professional development. Other duties as delegated by the Human Resources Manager.
