As an HVAC Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the systems that keep our recreation facilities operating at their best.

From commercial heating and cooling equipment and rooftop units to ventilation systems, pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, and building automation systems, you will use your technical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain a wide range of HVAC equipment and systems across RRC facilities. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in quality workmanship. You will balance preventative and predictive maintenance with responsive repairs, contribute to HVAC projects and commissioning, and work with contractors and suppliers to keep systems reliable and efficient.

Membership & Facility Pass Options Scholarship Program The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) Technician will be responsible for performing onsite maintenance to HVAC systems and equipment.



The HVAC Technician shall be responsible for keeping the HVAC systems functioning at optimum levels and back-up systems maintained within all Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) facilities. Diagnose the cause of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repairs and/or replacements.

Inspect all HVAC systems and their components (i.e. Heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) Install heating and air conditioning equipment, ventilation systems, and small equipment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance of commercial rooftop heating and cooling equipment.

Filter replacements, coil cleaning, drive belt repairs) Prepare written materials (i.e. as required using the AMERESCO Asset Assisting Manager, Operations in ordering parts and dealing with contractors.

Assisting

Manager, Operations in HVAC related project. Repair heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (i.e. Pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) Transport a variety of tools, equipment and supplies to ensure availability of materials required at the job site.

Participate in meetings, workshops, training and seminars as required. Read and interpret shop drawings and control schematics. Assists with start-up and commissioning of building automation systems. Provide support functions with other Facilities Management operations and maintenance as required.





Comply with department procedures at all times and ensure building standards and efficiencies are maintained. Gas Fitter A is an asset. Elevated work platform/zoom boom Certificate is an asset.

Confined

Space entry ticket is an asset.

Current Intermediate First

Aid/CPR/AED Certification or equivalent (including CPR C) is an asset.

Experience with both commercial and industrial HVAC systems and kitchen equipment is an asset.

Experience in installation techniques and refrigerant handling.

Experience with repairing and maintaining both hot water and electric heating systems.

Experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining rooftop units, energy recovery ventilation (ERV), heat recovery ventilation (HRV), and maintenance/repair on kitchen equipment. Knowledge of start-up and commissioning of building automation systems. Excellent time management and project management skills. Practical knowledge of building automation controls. Ability to demonstrate customer service and decision making skills.

This position requires a flexible schedule including statutory holidays, early morning, late night and This position involves working under variable temperature conditions, in indoor and outdoor settings.
