ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking competent and dedicated Instructor for our Medical Laboratory Assistant Technician Program to join our team at our North York Campus location.

Please note that classes will be held on campus, Monday to Friday evening schedule (6pm-10pm).

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Mentor, coach, and support students through a commitment to educational excellence and passion in a variety of Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Responsible for creating an effective and positive adult learning environment
- Develop, supervise and evaluate practical skills
- Maintain laboratory protocols and equipment
- Teach the curriculum in person, as outlined by the college and in adherence with the CSMLS/MLPAO competencies.

- Enjoys challenges and solving them through evidence
- Proven leadership and motivational skills and can work well under pressure.

Required Qualifications:

- Five (5) years’ experience working in a medical laboratory workplace
- Diagnostic /clinical working field experience obtained from a licensed diagnostic laboratory (required: 5 years).
- Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist – Active membership in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Ontario, active membership with the MLPAO and CSMLS and must have “Phlebotomy” listed as a specialty on their CMLTO registration card
- Or Medical Laboratory Assistant Technician with five years of experience with current certification CSMLS and MLPAO
- Two years of teaching experience would be considered an asset

License/Certifications:

- CSMLS certification (required) MLAT
- MLPAO certification (required) MLAT
- MLT-s must be registered with CMLTO and have current membership with CSMLS and MLPAO
