Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience. Facilitate learning to students in theory, lab, and clinical as part of the Personal Care Attendant program. Incorporate own teaching style to existing lesson plans while meeting the learning objectives of the course material.
Work with other faculty members to ensure a coordinated and consistent teaching approach to ensure the planned curriculum for each course is delivered. Prepare and implement various instructional strategies, techniques, and learning modules using an approved curriculum to achieve specified learning outcomes. Utilize and advocate for the use of technology to advance teaching and learning.
Establish student performance objectives and evaluation methods; Maintain appropriate classroom discipline following college policies and procedures. Provide academic advising to students. Participate in professional development activities, maintain currency, and strive for excellence in instructional practices and the long-term care sector.
Other related duties consistent with providing and maintaining quality student-centered instruction will be required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing (BN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) ~5 years of recent, relevant work experience, with two years in the long-term care sector. Knowledgeable in the subject area of long-term care including key concepts and best practices.
Knowledge of teaching methods. Relationship building. Must be eligible for, and have,
an active practicing license with the College of Registered Nurses Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) or College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL) prior to commencing employment.
