Ventcor Systems is a growing manufacturer of Custom Industrial Paint-Line Finishing Systems. We design and manufacture engineered equipment for industrial painting applications, with a strong focus on quality, practical manufacturability, and delivering solutions that meet our customers' requirements.

We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Mechanical Designer / CAD Detailer to join our engineering and design team.

This position is ideal for someone who has solid SolidWorks CAD skills but also understands manufacturing and fabrication. You should be comfortable taking an engineered concept and developing it into accurate, production-ready drawings and models.

Position Overview

As an Intermediate Mechanical Designer / CAD Detailer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, detail drawings, and manufacturing documentation.

You will work closely with engineering and production, to ensure designs are practical, accurate and ready for manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently on assigned projects while also collaborating with the engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Design & CAD

- Create and modify detailed 3D mechanical models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Develop production-ready fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Create detailed sheet metal parts, weldments, frames, brackets, panels and mechanical assemblies.
- Produce accurate dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols,



material specifications and manufacturing notes.
- Develop detailed drawings from engineering concepts, sketches and existing designs.
- Modify existing designs to accommodate engineering and manufacturing changes.
- Create layouts and general arrangement drawings.
- Assist with equipment and system design as required.
- Review drawings and models for accuracy and completeness before release.

PDM / Document Control
- Manage CAD files using SolidWorks PDM.
- Follow established file naming, revision and release procedures.
- Check files in/out of PDM correctly.
- Maintain accurate drawing and model revisions.
- Assist with maintaining BOMs and engineering documentation.
- Ensure released drawings and models are properly controlled.

Manufacturing Support

Work directly with manufacturing personnel to:

- Resolve drawing and fabrication questions.
- Review design issues identified on the shop floor.
- Make engineering/design revisions.
- Improve manufacturability.
- Reduce unnecessary fabrication complexity.
- Support production with technical information.
- Incorporate lessons learned into future designs.

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is not just a CAD operator.

You should be someone who can look at a drawing and understand:

"How are we actually going to manufacture this?"

You should be able to recognize problems such as:

- Parts that cannot be fabricated as drawn
- Difficult weld access
- Poor bend locations
- Inadequate clearances
- Difficult assembly sequences
- Missing dimensions
- Conflicting tolerances
- Improper material specifications
- Manufacturing inefficiencies

Pay: $62,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
