About the Opportunity micro1 is engaging experienced Investment Banking Experts to contribute to a customer project focused on improving financial data analysis, financial modeling, and industry research processes. In this role, you will apply real-world investment banking expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality financial analysis, transaction insights, and expert evaluation. No prior AI experience is required—your investment banking expertise is what matters.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive company and industry research to support financial analysis and AI training initiatives.
- Perform and review buyer and target screening, comparable company analysis, and financial modeling.
- Build, update, and troubleshoot detailed Excel-based valuation and transaction models.
- Ensure financial models are methodologically accurate, logically consistent, and well-structured.
- Prepare and edit client-facing materials, including pitchbooks and transaction presentation materials.
- Analyze transaction scenarios and clearly communicate strategic rationale and key deal considerations.
- Review sample financial and presentation materials for numerical errors, weak strategic reasoning, and unclear logic.




- Provide actionable feedback to improve the quality and accuracy of analytical outputs.
- Explain accounting treatments, valuation adjustments, deal sensitivities, and key financial assumptions.
- Deliver clear written and verbal explanations of complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.

Required Qualifications

- Solid professional experience in investment banking, M&A;, industry coverage, or financial advisory.
- Substantial hands-on experience with live acquisition or sale processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, comparable company analysis, and transaction analysis.
- Experience conducting company and industry research and target screening.
- Experience preparing and reviewing pitchbooks and client-facing transaction materials.
- Strong analytical review and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to identify quantitative inaccuracies, weak assumptions, and strategic weaknesses.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience as a Senior Associate or Vice President within an M&A; or industry-coverage team.
- Background at a leading investment bank, established M&A; boutique, or sector-focused advisory firm.
- Third-year Senior Associate experience is particularly relevant.
