Janitor/Handyperson- NO WEEKENDS

Hours: Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 8:30pm (40hrs/week)

Starting Wage: $20.12 (Increases to $21.18 at 6 months of employment)

Bonus Pay:

StoRRack Manufacturing Ltd. (located in Colborne, Ontario), is seeking a Janitor/Handyperson for a current vacant position.

Special qualifications / certification:

- Familiar and comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to properly use hand and power tools when needed
- Forklift Certification (An asset) or willing to be trained
- WHMIS Training
- Attention to detail

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
- Stack stray items neatly, clear of forklift areas
- Pick items off floor that pose as tripping hazard
- Empty all garbage bins and recycle bins in the plant, offices, washrooms, lunch room etc..
- Sweep all floor surfaces
- Sweep under machinery when safe and possible (As instructed by Supervisor)
- Clean the lunchroom, washrooms, changerooms, offices, staff entrance hall way, main entrance hallway etc..
- Restock washrooms as needed with soap, toilet paper, paper towel
- Check eye wash stations
- Vacuum inside window screens in offices and plant
- Cut Grass, trim weeds all ditches and edges of property as required by management
- Collect garbage around entire perimeter of property - ditch included




- Rake lawn as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the outside lunch areas
- Weed flower beds and mulched areas around entire perimeter of building
- Water flower beds and potted flowers as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of Main Entrance and Employee entrance
- Shake rug at front step
- Empty all cigarette butt bins/ Clean up cigarette butts on the ground outside of building
- Wash main level exterior windows in office and plant
- Complete tasks such as hanging items on wall, setting up air conditioners, moving items around as instructed.
- Complete and Follow daily cleaning checklists
- Other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Attend all continuing education and required job related training provided by the company

Personal Protective Equipment:

- Safety glasses
- Steel toe boots (CSA certified -green patch)
- Hi Vis
- Gloves
- Protective Hearing

Physical Demands:

- Standing
- Bending and twisting
- Some heavy lifting required- at least 50lbs
- Manual material handling may be necessary
