Posting ID: 2569 - this recruitment is for an existing vacancy Department: Office of the CAO Division: Information Technology to be eligible for a student position, the applicant must be enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university programme, in a full-time capacity.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week: regular schedule is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm onsite/in-person; This student position is available from early January until the end of April. the County of Wellington is an employer that provides service onsite. This position reports to the IT Support Supervisor and will assist in the support of the County's IT Helpdesk operations. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and security of desktop hardware and software in place at all County work locations.
Respond to and trouble shoot hardware and software problems at all locations. Escalate difficult problems to Level III support.
Participate as a team member in any desktop update projects. Keep all desktop software current with the appropriate product upgrades and patches.
Ensure that all computers are maintained to run at their full capacity. Maintain desktop hardware and software usage lists. Currently enrolled in University or College in a full time capacity, preferably in a Computer Technology Support / Networking Support programme.
Experience in Technology Support.
Experience with current Windows Operating Systems. Knowledge of current Microsoft Office products.
