Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service delivery
- Prepare authentic Jamaican dishes with attention to detail, flavor, and presentation
- Manage food handling procedures to comply with safety and sanitation standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies
- Train staff on cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service expectations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food quality throughout the kitchen
- Support restaurant management in coordinating service flow, bartending, and serving when needed
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment
- Extensive food preparation and cooking skills specific to Jamaican cuisine or similar culinary styles
- Strong team management and leadership abilities to motivate staff and foster collaboration
- Previous restaurant management experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food handling safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and develop team members
- Experience with hospitality operations including bartending and serving is a plus
