JAPN 111 – Introductory Japanese

This introductory course is designed to develop basic communicative competence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Sociolinguistic characteristics of the Japanese language will be emphasized.

Requirements

- Applicants must have a minimum qualification of a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction, Applied linguistics, second language education, Japanese, Japanese culture, or a related field with a Ph.D. degree in any of these disciplines preferred.
- Degrees in related disciplines may be considered at the discretion of the Department.
- Proven ability to teach Japanese language courses to adult learners who are learning Japanese as an additional language is required.
- Proven ability in the teaching and creation of online courses at the University of Regina is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching JAPN 111- Introductory Japanese I is preferred.





Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range Per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours The start date for this position is May 1, 2027.

The course development must be completed by April 1, 2028.
