Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance major required
- Actively working towards CPA accounting designation preferred
- MIS/OHRS Level 1 preferred

Skill, Ability and Experience:

- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create financial spreadsheets required
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail required
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with varied interruptions required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with others and work in a quick-paced team setting required
- Experience working with Meditech preferred
- Three years recent experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on financial analysis preferred
- Accounting experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of Canadian public sector accounting standards preferred
- French language proficiency preferred

Principal Duties:

- Process monthly journal entries including applicable statistics
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparation of annual audit working papers
- Work with d Service Organization (TransForm) regarding Accounts Payable discrepancies and other analysis as required
- Preparation of Charity Information Return
- Perform month-end closing procedures including the posting of batches from Payroll, Payables, Receivables, etc.
- Perform day to day bookkeeping function for the Bluewater Health Foundation
- Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
- Other related duties as assigned
