Laboratory Technician 2 - Media Microbiology - CPL Posting End Date: September 17, 2026 Employer: Shared Health Site: Shared Health - Cadham Provincial Laboratory Reason for Term: Maternity Leave Anticipated Shift: Days Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Reporting to the Supervisor of the Media Section, Clinical Microbiology, the employee is responsible for the preparation and distribution of Media and other supplies within CPL.

Laboratory Information

System experience preferred. Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) program from an accredited institution or equivalent education and a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience required.

Workplace

Health and Safety training preferred.

Canadian

Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification preferred. Knowledge and understanding of privacy legislation such as the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) required. Knowledge of health and safety practices in a laboratory setting required.

Knowledge of medical and technical terms required. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.



Computer literacy including Microsoft Office required Working weekends and holidays may be required.

Exposure to all hazards and dangers if incumbent is working in a laboratory.
