The UBCO School of Engineering is seeking a Structural Testing Technician with expertise in fabricating and assembling experimental setups. You will collaborate with researchers and guide students while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety compliance.
Your role is crucial in supporting innovative engineering solutions for construction practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on assembly of structural testing apparatus
- Fabricate components from steel, wood, or concrete
- Monitor lab safety and maintain equipment documentation
- Coordinate with research staff on project scheduling
- Assist in developing experimental procedures and setups Requirements:
- Engineering degree or relevant technical diploma
- Four years of hands-on experience in a lab workplace
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for technical drawings
- Understanding of reinforced concrete and steel structures
