Strike Group Lead Hand – Pipeline Integrity

Location: High Level, Alberta, T0H 1Z0

Position Summary The primary function of the Lead Hand is to provide direction, on-floor leadership, and continuous improvement of the production processes, procedures, and equipment. A Strike Lead Hand provides leadership and scheduling, and coordinates, supervises, and ensures the safety and productivity of their assigned labourer.

Scope of Work

Core Accountabilities

- Operate 2-5 ton picker trucks, telehandlers, skidsteers, and AWP
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings
- Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
- Complete Task Hazard Assessments, Drivers Logs, and review Job Site Assessments
- Manage and maintain client relationships
- Apply project procedures, work site policies, and collective agreement requirements
- Ensure quality and inspection of installation
- Complete quality reports and required statistics
- Inform the Superintendent of any out of scope work
- Move equipment and materials between sites
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment for transporting to work locations, following applicable safety securement protocols
- Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervisor
- Maintain all equipment and tools in good and safe working condition and report any findings to lead hand
- Manage and perform general housekeeping and daily clean-up of work area

Qualifications

- Education: CSTS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, AWP, First Aid

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Capable of setting and managing priorities to meet all deadlines
- Strong coordination and organization skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
