The Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide and contribute to the end-to-end design, development and support of value-add technology solutions and products. You will provide technical leadership, drive engineering excellence within your team, and influence engineering practices across the Technology & Data department.

The Team

Capital Markets and Factor Investing provides CPP Investments with flexible and efficient access to a broad range of global investments, including public equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities and derivatives. The Capital Markets and Factor Investing Technology team develops and supports the technology and data capabilities that enable these investment activities.

Accountabilities

- Design, build, test and support end-to-end technology solutions that enable complex business capabilities,



working in an Agile environment with business and Technology & Data partners
- Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement, providing technical leadership and coaching within the team and influencing improvements across teams
- Apply advanced understanding of the technology landscape and the business capabilities it supports to provide technical guidance and inform solutions
- Foster agility and innovation through experimentation and early feedback, ensuring solutions remain responsive to evolving business needs
- Frame complex problems clearly, engage colleagues in thoughtful problem-solving and build support for well-reasoned recommendations
- Facilitate cross-team root-cause analysis and adhere to Agile software development lifecycle practices
- Build strong relationships across business, technology and vendor partners while fostering mentorship, feedback, learning and professional growth

What You Bring

- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field, such as Engineering or Computer Science
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Extensive programming experience using languages such as Python, C++ and Java




- Experience supporting platforms within capital markets or financial services
- Strong understanding of software development practices, including version control, testing methodologies and Agile development
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable and well-documented code, with robust attention to detail and adherence to coding standards
