Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate individuals to become a part of our team and provide LIVE-IN care for a client in Caledon. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Providing companionship and conversation to stimulate, encourage, and assist a senior client
- Assisting clients in maintaining their homes by providing light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, dusting, laundry, vacuuming
- Providing medication reminders
- Supporting senior clients in completing their activities of daily living including toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance
- Escorting clients to medical appointments
- Dementia care
- Hospice and palliative support

This posting is looking for a LIVE-IN PSW. Live-in assignments are 24 hour shifts requiring the PSW to live at the client's house for the full duration of the shift.

WORKING SCHEDULE:

- WEEKDAY PSW scheduled as LIVE-IN for 5 consecutive 24-hour shifts
- WEEKEND PSW scheduled as LIVE-IN for 2 consecutive 24-hour shifts
- PSWs are required to LIVE IN the client's home for the duration of their shift




- PSWs will have their own room in the client's house
- NO cost for food or utilities when living at the client's house

Requirements to be a Personal Support Worker:
- MUST have a valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
- MUST have a negative TB Test
- Certified Personal Support Worker diploma OR
- Completion of Nursing degree in Canada OR
- Completion of International Nursing and Canadian Leadership course OR
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program, having completed at least one year
- Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
- All candidates must provide a vulnerable sector check, as well as three qualified references.
