Location: Eastern Zone, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Department: OPEZ PHAR Pharmacy CBRH Permanent Hourly FT (100%) x 1 Union: MGMT/NON-Union Management/Non Union Position Posting Closing Date: 24-Sep-26 Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Manager - Operations is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient provision of drug distribution services. The Manager works collaboratively with other members of the Department's Leadership Team in a co-leadership model to ensure compounding, preparation and delivery of medications for patients meet high standards for quality and patient safety and is aligned with strategic priorities of the Pharmacy Department and NSH. In addition, the Manager oversees drug procurement and inventory management, pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistant competency assessment and certification and health technology assessment (drug distribution systems).

The Manager oversees the selection, training and evaluation of pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistants, and students with respect to expected performance and competencies and supports the operational, fiscal and strategic objectives of the Pharmacy Department and NSH. The Manager is also responsible to ensure that all programs and initiatives are consistent with the mission, vision, values, strategic directions and business plan of NSH. Licensed as a pharmacy technician in Nova Scotia, through the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists Completion of a management training program preferred Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hospital setting managing human, financial and material resources allocated to Pharmacy service an asset Proficient with computers and office administration programs,



experience with pharmacy software and technology preferred Must possess strong planning, evaluative and leadership skills; have demonstrated fiscal and time-management skills Excellent knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice Previous experience with Failure Mode Effects and Analysis reviews an asset Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.

Permanent full-time position;
