What you will do
- Inspect equipment operation and examine various machines to detect defects and malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, accessories, or components using hand or power tools.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures using computerized monitoring systems or other diagnostic equipment to determine the scope of required repairs.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and that repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare inspection certificates following repair and inspection.
- Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance tasks.
- Discuss vehicle operation, overall condition, and upcoming repairs with the supervisor.
- Participate in training related to the acquisition of new equipment and machinery.
This role could be for you if you have
- A college diploma (DEC)
in construction equipment mechanics.
- A heavy vehicle mechanic certification.
- Three (3) years or more of relevant experience working on large-engine equipment.
- Knowledge of CAT ET diagnostic systems and a solid understanding of the various types of heavy equipment used in the construction industry.
