Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Assembler will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Switchgear Assembly department. The Assembler will be responsible for the Assembly of electrical units, switchgear, and other Powell products. Build and assemble mechanical components for Switchgear units.

Assemble

Switchgear units as per drawings and instructions. Repair identified discrepancies with Switchgear units. Ensures quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.

Ability to follow direction from Senior Assemblers and Lead Assemblers. Believes and displays through actions that our customers represent our current success and remain vital to our future growth.



Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is required. Previous experience in Switchgear units is considered an asset. Basic computer knowledge considered and asset. Prior ability or interest in building or repairing mechanical components considered an asset.

Safety training certificates are an asset for the position. This is a permanent position. Immigration sponsorship is not typically available and will be considered only where supported by business needs and applicable legal requirements.

Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities. Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding. Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.
