We design, manufacture, and install a wide range of material handling equipment in manufacturing facilities throughout the GTA and South-Central Ontario.

We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Mechanical Design Manager. This is a full-time opportunity with a diverse team. If you are interested in developing your leadership career alongside an established and growing company, this could be right for you.

About the Role:

The Mechanical Design Manager is responsible for leading and directing the Mechanical Design Team, establishing design standards, and optimizing departmental workflows for our line of manufactured products. This role focuses on team leadership, resource planning, workload distribution, and process creation to ensure high-quality production outputs.

The Mechanical Design

Manager will oversee design reviews, ensure compliance with safety and functional standards, and foster cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, purchasing, and quality teams.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Direct, supervise, and mentor the mechanical design team, supporting ongoing professional development and team performance.
- Establish, document, and maintain mechanical design standards, templates, CAD/Vault file management protocols, and best practices. As directed by Senior Management.
- Manage project assignments and schedules; review team workloads, balance resource capacity, and prioritize deliverables.
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews, technical checks, and BOM evaluations to ensure accuracy, safety compliance, and manufacturability before release.
- Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure designs are optimized for production, part quality, and timing.
- Create and execute new departmental processes to audit workflows, reduce lead times, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.




- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to review concepts, incorporate feedback, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Oversee adherence to technical and safety standards, industry best practices, and Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications, Skills, and Attitude:

- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in designing custom conveying machines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation considered an asset, but not required.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical design software, AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience creating drawings for a fabrication shop environment.
- Experience creating, maintaining and modifying design standards
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Innovative thinker with proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Knowledge, application and adherence to technical and safety standards, industry best practices and regulations.
- Adhere to company and customer site safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively participate in safety training and hazard prevention practices. Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to at all times.

Working Environment





- Office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing or client sites.
- Collaborative, fast-paced design team environment.

Please note, this is an in-office position and is currently based out of our head office at 21 State Crown Boulevard, Scarborough ON M1V 4B1. However, we will be relocating to a new facility in Newmarket, ON by the Winter of 2026.

This is a new vacancy. Wage: $110,000- 150,000 per annum.

Actual compensation offered for this position may vary depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill set. The stated compensation reflects the anticipated range for the role.
