With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide.
At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

The Midnight Shift Shipping Supervisor directly supervises up to 5-15 unionized hourly employees.
The Midnight Shift Shipping
Supervisor is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting hourly employees within the Shipping and Warehousing areas while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role provides hands-on leadership during the midnight shift, overseeing shipping activities, employee training and development, equipment readiness, inventory management, and compliance with food safety, workplace safety, company policies, and collective agreement requirements where applicable. The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, accountability,
continuous improvement, and employee engagement while ensuring customer service and operational objectives are consistently achieved.
NOTE: This position will be located in Belleville, ON, and will be on a midnight shift rotation (9:30PM start time), and will include Sunday shifts.
You Will
- Foster a strong culture of health and safety by ensuring safe work practices are consistently followed and embedded in all shipping activities.
- Supervise, train, develop, and engage Shipping and Warehousing employees on the midnight shift to support operational excellence and employee growth.
- Ensure midnight shift employees receive proper training on shipping equipment, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance activities and ensure operational readiness to support uninterrupted production and shipping requirements.
- Oversee the loading, storage, stock rotation, and dispatch of finished goods during the midnight shift to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support the application of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor employee attendance and performance on the midnight shift and administer corrective action in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Enforce HACCP, food safety,
and quality assurance standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable legislation, collective agreement provisions, and workplace standards.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization within the shipping and warehousing areas.
- Conduct incident and accident reporting, implement corrective actions, and promote a safe working workplace for all employees.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
You Have
- Community college and 3-5 years of related manufacturing/warehousing experience, preferably in fresh meat production environment. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be acceptable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead a team safely, achieve production objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Familiarization with food safety, productivity requirements of the meat/food processing industry.
- Management/supervisory experience, including experience working in unionized environments within the context of Collective Agreements
- Familiarization with SAP/ERP, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, including WHMIS, Labour Relations, Human Rights, workplace safety, and WSIB.
Work Site Environment
- A cold working environment on a daily basis.
Salary: $56,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
