Role: Middleware Integration Specialist

Title: Associate/AVP

Location: Montreal, Canada.

Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required

Work type - Fulltime & C2H(6 Months)

7+ years of experience in application/middleware administration, engineering, or a similar role. Prior experience working in a global financial organization is an advantage.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Application / Middleware Specialist with strong hands-on experience managing large-scale, web-based applications and middleware platforms in secure enterprise environments. The candidate will be responsible for application performance, automation, deployment, cloud platforms, security, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support large-scale web-based n-tier applications and middleware platforms in secure environments.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of applications and middleware platforms.
- Automate IT operations and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Helm.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Flux, or similar tools.
- Support application and middleware deployments across cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS.
- Work with Docker/Podman containers and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Implement and maintain application security and hardening practices, including:
- Transport encryption
- Modern authentication mechanisms
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Authorization mechanisms
- Perform operational support and troubleshooting across application, middleware, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Work with RDBMS and SQL for basic operational and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Contribute to system architecture and application/middleware development activities.
- Support and manage Big Data platforms such as Hadoop and ELK Stack.
- Work with source control and continuous integration/continuous delivery processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 7+ years of hands-on experience in an Application / Middleware Specialist or similar role.
- Strong experience managing large web-based n-tier applications in secure enterprise environments.
- Experience with IT Automation and Configuration Management tools such as:
- Ansible
- Helm

Hands-on experience with CI/CD and source control, including:

- Jenkins
- Artifactory
- Flux
- Understanding of application and middleware security hardening concepts.
- Experience with encryption, SSO, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Basic operational knowledge of RDBMS and SQL.





Hands-on experience with:
- Azure and/or AWS
- Docker / Podman
- Kubernetes
- OpenShift
- Exposure to Hadoop and ELK Stack.
- Experience with capacity planning and application/middleware performance tuning.
- Strong system architecture/development experience.
- Experience working in a global financial organization is an advantage.
