Mine Technician

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Mine Technician will be responsible for monitoring and installing survey controls in a safe and timely manner for development and production activities. The role will be based at Impala Canada’s Lac des Iles mine and will follow a 14 day on/14 day off work schedule.

:

- Responsible for conducting underground surveys including installation of wall bars and survey controls, mark up of underground development and production lines,



and underground CMS/borehole CMS
- Design and provide survey layouts
- Maintain survey equipment and survey supplies
- Coordinate survey tasks for the entire mine
- Compile metres of advance and excavation volumes for crew end and month end summaries
- Install grade plugs, issue updated prints of development headings after each pickup and grade plug installation
- Provide ventilation support
- Collect geotechnical data as required
- Install line for DDH and checks DDH set ups for line and grade
- Performs CMS (cavity monitoring surveys) as required
- Communicate design discrepancies to supervisor and operations
- Miscellaneous duties reasonable and beneficial as the department requires

· Two (2) year Engineering Technician diploma · Two (2) year mine survey experience.
