Multi-Unit General Manager – Food & Beverage
Blue Mountain / Collingwood, Ontario | Full-Time Leadership Role
We are looking for a food & beverage operator to take leadership across a growing portfolio of restaurant and quick-service concepts in the Blue Mountain and Collingwood area.
This role could be the right next step for two types of candidates:
You are already managing multiple food & beverage locations, OR
You have been the strong #2 — an Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager or senior leader working directly alongside a Multi-Unit GM — and you are ready to take ownership yourself.
Either way, multi-unit food & beverage experience is required.
Who We Are
We are an independent hospitality group that has operated at Blue Mountain for approximately 20 years. Our portfolio includes restaurants, cafés and high-volume quick-service concepts, each with its own team, manager and operational needs.
We operate in a highly seasonal tourism environment. When we’re busy, we’re very busy. That means forecasting, hiring, training, scheduling and preparing teams before volume arrives — not reacting after it does.
We are also growing, and we need an operational leader who can help build the structure and management team required for that growth.
The Role
You will oversee multiple locations and the managers responsible for running them.
This is not a desk-only position.
Initially, we expect you to spend significant time inside the businesses: understanding the teams, observing service, identifying operational gaps and establishing expectations.
From there, your job is to develop managers who can run solid businesses without constant intervention.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing General Managers and location leaders
- Building accountability across multiple locations
- Recruiting, interviewing and helping managers build strong teams
- Improving training, onboarding and management development
- Monitoring labour, scheduling, sales, COGS and inventory
- Identifying operational problems before they become bigger problems
- Maintaining strong standards around food quality, cleanliness and hospitality
- Preparing locations for seasonal volume
- Creating consistent operating systems across different concepts
- Coaching managers through performance and people issues
- Being present during key weekends, holidays and peak periods
- Helping us build the operational foundation required to continue growing
The Person We’re Looking For You understand that managing multiple restaurants is very different from managing one.
You know how to walk into a location and quickly see what’s working — and what isn’t.
You can look at a schedule and recognize a labour problem.
You can recognize when a manager needs coaching, when they need more resources and when expectations simply aren’t being met.
You are comfortable moving between financial performance, staffing, guest experience and hands-on restaurant operations in the same day.
Most importantly,
you develop people.
Experience We’re Looking For
Required:
- Multi-unit food & beverage experience
- Restaurant, café, QSR, fast-casual or hospitality operations background
- Experience leading or directly supporting multiple location managers
- Strong understanding of labour management, scheduling, food cost and inventory
- Experience recruiting, training and developing hospitality teams
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume operations
- Willingness to work on-site and be present during important weekends and peak periods
We are particularly interested in candidates who have been: Multi-Unit General Managers, Area Managers, District Managers, Regional Restaurant Managers, Multi-Unit Operations Managers, or strong Assistant/Associate leaders who have worked directly under a Multi-Unit GM and are ready for the next step.
This Role Will Appeal to You If
You’ve spent the last few years learning from a strong multi-unit leader and you’re thinking:
“I know how to do this. I’m ready to run it.”
Or you’ve already managed multiple locations and want an opportunity where you can have a meaningful impact on how a hospitality company operates and grows.
This is not a corporate environment where you inherit layers of systems and simply maintain them.
You’ll have the opportunity to build, improve, lead and scale.
If you’re a hands-on food & beverage operator who knows how to develop people and create accountable teams, we’d like to hear from you.
