Operations Manager

MM Energy is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the execution of our growing portfolio of electrical construction projects across Alberta.

This is a senior operational leadership position for someone who understands construction from the field through project delivery and knows how to bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a fast-moving organization.

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day performance of MME's active projects, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Estimating, People & Culture, Safety, and Accounting to ensure our projects are properly planned, resourced, executed, and delivered.

The Role

Reporting directly to the President, the Operations Manager will be responsible for operational performance across MME's project portfolio.

This person will maintain visibility across all active projects and ensure our teams have the manpower, materials, equipment, information, and support required to execute successfully.

Key responsibilities include:

- Oversee operational performance across all active MME projects.
- Lead company-wide manpower and resource planning across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Work with Project Managers and field leadership to establish project execution plans, schedules, manpower requirements, and priorities.
- Hold project leadership accountable for schedules, labour performance, cost control, procurement, documentation, change management, and project closeout.
- Lead regular project and operational performance reviews.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and resource gaps before they impact schedule or profitability.
- Coordinate the allocation of manpower, vehicles, tools, equipment, and other shared resources between projects.
- Ensure materials and equipment are planned, ordered, and available when required.




- Monitor labour productivity, project budgets, committed costs, forecasts, and overall project performance.
- Require and support recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule or budget.
- Establish consistent operational processes and expectations across all MME projects.
- Strengthen communication and accountability between office and field leadership.
- Support Project Managers with escalated client, subcontractor, supplier, and project issues.
- Ensure operational execution aligns with MME's safety, quality, and client requirements.
- Lead the operational handoff of newly awarded projects from Estimating into execution.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring operational issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Support the development of Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and future operational leaders.

What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced construction leader who can see both the big picture and what is happening at the project level.

The successful candidate will bring:

- Significant experience in electrical, industrial, commercial, or construction operations.
- Previous experience leading multiple projects, project teams, or field operations simultaneously.
- Robust understanding of construction labour planning, scheduling, productivity, procurement, cost control, and project forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and hold Project Managers and field leaders accountable.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding of construction projects.




- Ability to identify operational problems quickly and drive them through to resolution.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills with both field personnel and executive leadership.
- A practical, solutions-focused leadership style.
- The ability to operate effectively in a growing company where priorities can change quickly.

Electrical construction experience is strongly preferred. Experience progressing through field leadership into project or operational management would be considered a significant asset.
