Highland Feeders Ltd. is a 36,000 hd feedlot located north of Vegreville, Alberta.
Duties
- Ride your horse(s) and check cattle daily
- Pull sick or injured cattle from the pen and take them to health unit for treatment
- Treat sick or injured cattle following the protocol from our veterinarians using a computer software program
- Pull pens of cattle to move or ship
- Check waterbowls and pound ice off in the winter
- Perform post mortem examinations (training provided)
- Other duties as required
Preference for this position will be to individuals with previous experience. Individuals must supply their own horses for this position. Horses must be broke to ride, up to date on vaccine and dewormer and be shod (sharp shod or corks in the winter). Wage will be based on experience. Job Type: Full-time
