We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team supporting residents in a Long-Term Care setting. In this role, you will work under the direction of a Registered Physiotherapist to implement customized treatment programs, assist residents with mobility exercises, and foster physical independence and quality of life. This is a full time position 37.5 hours a week at the Hunt Club/Riverside Dr. area.
Key Responsibilities
Execute individual and group exercise/restorative care programs as prescribed by the supervising Physiotherapist.
Assist residents with gait training, transfer practice, range of motion, and therapeutic exercises.
Apply therapeutic modalities (e.g., heat, ice) safely as directed. Prepare, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas.
Document resident progress, attendance,
and observe/report any changes in condition to the Physiotherapist.
Maintain a respectful, safe, and engaging environment for seniors.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma/Certificate as an Occupational Therapist Assistant / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) from a recognized post-secondary institution (or a degree in Kinesiology ). Previous experience in long-term care, retirement, or geriatric care is a strong asset. Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required. Solid interpersonal and communication skills with a empathetic, senior-focused approach.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
