Piping Designer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Intermediate Piping Designer will use their design and drafting skills to support the piping components of projects as assigned within VTEK Projects.
- He will report to the Design Engineering Lead.
- Prepare all types of piping drawings including, P&ID;’s, plot plans, equipment layouts, general arrangements, and isometric drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Prepare all types of piping deliverables including pipe support details, BOM’s for piping materials, etc.
- Interface with other design disciplines.
- Effective execution of both 2D and 3D CAD design.
- Provide expertise for support on multiple projects from concept to design and through construction and commissioning stages.
- Perform squad checks of vendor equipment drawings and drawings from other disciplines.




- Review fabricator drawings.
- Ensure the quality of deliverables being issued meet project and corporate standards.
- Visit remote project sites, field locations and vendor shops as required.
- Work effectively under the supervision of a project lead.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 3 years of industry-related experience in piping design.
- Advanced knowledge of piping design and plant layout.
- Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D and/or Bentley AutoPLANT.
- Brownfield project experience is considered an asset.
- Field experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent English, written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Robust organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with tight deadlines.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite.
