Summary
We have Plant Manager openings in New Brunswick and in Nova Scotia, to help support our current staff and to support our efforts in succession planning for upcoming retirements.
The Plant
Manager role is responsible for the protected and efficient operations of the crab and/or lobster facility. They plan, direct, coordinate and oversee all production including scheduling, packaging, shipping and logistics, quality control, maintenance and the management of employees. They manage all stages of production of finished goods in all formats.
They also lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts and cost reduction activities as well as create a high-performance work environment that promotes collaboration, employee engagement, customer satisfaction and goal attainment at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee all production planning and processing, including safety, quality & production goals;
· Manage employee relations, for large and diverse teams, including department managers and supervisors;
· In co-operation with production supervisors, regularly identify and address production improvement opportunities;
· Create and manage an annual budget, prepare regular reports and oversee daily costing reports; and
· Strategize, plan and implement continuous improvement measures.
Ideal Qualifications
· Significant experience as Supervisor, Operations Leader, Production or Plant Manager and dealing with complex supply chains in fast-paced environment, preferably in the seafood sector or food processing sectors
· Strong knowledge of all aspects of plant management: safety, quality, productivity, inventory, shipping, maintenance and customer relations
· Strong decision-making and people management skills
· Ability to display initiative and demonstrate sound business judgment
· Demonstrated experience building, motivating and leading successful teams
