Cora on Dresden Row changed hands on 1 September. The new owners are the team behind Scanway, Bells Lane Kitchen, Jolt and Citadel Coffee Bar in Halifax. We are building the kitchen team for breakfast and lunch service and are hiring line cooks and prep cooks, full-time and part time.

The work

Cora is a breakfast restaurant, and the kitchen runs hard between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM on a weekend. Eggs, omelettes, crêpes, waffles, French toast, skillets and lunch sandwiches, all to the Cora recipe, all plated to spec.

- Line: grill, flat-top and egg station, keeping pace with a full dining room and tickets stacking
- Prep: fresh fruit is the signature at Cora, so cutting and portioning fruit is a real job here, alongside batters, sauces and set-up for the next morning
- Open or close the kitchen depending on the shift: temperature logs, rotation, sanitation, a clean line at the end of the day
- Cora's food safety and franchise standards, with training on the Cora system provided

Hours

Shifts start as early as 6:00 AM and finish by 3:30 PM. No nights. The restaurant is open seven days a week, so weekend availability is required.

Pay

$17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What we need

- Breakfast or high-volume cooking experience. This is the one requirement
- Reliable at 6:00 AM. The first hour sets up the whole day
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
