Position Summary An prospect exists for an Educational Assistant to join the Elm Street School team. This includes supporting students with diverse and complex learning needs and providing positive behaviour supports in an inclusive classroom setting.

Skills & Requirements

Experience working with students with diverse and complex needs would be an asset

Support with in class and small group supports to help students access learning

Support students with positive behaviour, development of self-regulation strategies and inclusive practices





Excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills with students and adults

Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher & school team

Implement strategies and recommendations effectively as outlined in Individual Support and Behaviour Support Plans

Ability to work in a flexible learning environment

Ability to adapt quickly for classroom or student needs

Supervision duties (recess, classroom, lunch, etc.)

Qualifications

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience preferred

Experience working with students in school setting

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities specifically early learning to grade 6
