Christmas Bonus: Approximately One Week of Pay

Tier 2 automotive manufacturer in Cambridge, Ontario, and they are creating a brand-new Process Engineer position.

This is not a typical Process Engineer role.

The company is looking for someone with a strong engineering background who can understand manufacturing equipment from the ground up and turn that technical knowledge into clear, qualified equipment documentation.

For the right person, this is also an opportunity to help shape the role and build the standards, templates and documentation process from scratch.

The immediate priority will be the creation of complete equipment manuals for machinery that is designed, built, modified or integrated internally.

You will need to understand the equipment physically on the production floor and be able to document how it works from start to finish.

This includes

Electrical systems and schematics

Mechanical drawings

Electrical drawings

Operating procedures

Safety and LOTO documentation The person in this position needs to be capable of looking at a machine, speaking with Engineering, Maintenance and Operations, reviewing the drawings and schematics, understanding the sequence of operation and then creating the complete technical documentation.

A major part of the position will involve:

- Writing equipment manuals from start to finish
- Creating standardized templates for future manuals
- Reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings
- Reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics
- Organizing technical information into clear and usable documents
- Working directly with engineers, technicians, maintenance and production personnel





The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong engineering or engineering technology background
- Manufacturing experience
- Strong understanding of industrial machinery and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Understanding of pneumatics
- Strong technical writing ability
- Experience creating equipment manuals, technical documentation or operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently

Experience within automotive manufacturing, automated equipment, custom machinery, assembly equipment, robotics or industrial automation would be highly valuable.

This is a newly created position, which means the successful candidate will have an opportunity to establish the documentation standards, create the templates and help determine how the role develops over time.

As the function grows, there is significant opportunity to become involved in broader process engineering, equipment improvement, manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary: $90,000 to $95,000
