Fizz Non-Alc Bottle Shop

Victoria

FIZZ is a specialty non-alcoholic bottle shop, distributor and events company based in Victoria, BC. We curate a considered collection of wine, aperitifs, spirits, beer and ready-to-drink products from producers around the world.

We’re looking for a Product & Retail Specialist to take an active role in both the customer-facing and operational sides of our shop.

This is not simply a sales-floor position. You’ll be a key part of keeping the retail side of FIZZ running well — from helping someone find the right bottle, to receiving a new shipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, building product knowledge and helping bring new arrivals to life in-store and across our channels.

The Role

You’ll confidently run the shop during your shifts while taking ownership of key retail operations behind the scenes.

The role combines hospitality, product knowledge, inventory management and creative execution. We're looking for someone who notices what needs doing, follows things through, and is excited to become deeply knowledgeable about the products we carry.

Retail + Customer Experience

- Independently open, run and close the shop
- Welcome customers and provide thoughtful, knowledgeable recommendations
- Build relationships with regular customers and create a warm, approachable retail experience
- Process sales and maintain accurate POS and cash procedures
- Keep the shop stocked, organized, clean and visually considered
- Maintain merchandising, pricing and shelf standards
- Notice and communicate customer requests, product feedback and buying patterns

Inventory + Purchasing You'll play an active role in keeping our inventory organized, accurate and moving.

- Monitor inventory levels and identify products requiring replenishment
- Support purchasing and create purchase orders
- Track outstanding POs and expected delivery dates
- Receive incoming orders and reconcile deliveries against POs and invoices
- Flag shortages, damages,

substitutions and discrepancies
- Ensure new inventory is accurately entered, priced and ready for sale
- Maintain organized back stock and storage
- Participate in and help coordinate month-end inventory counts
- Help investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Identify fast-moving, slow-moving and low-stock products and communicate purchasing needs

Product Knowledge Product knowledge is central to the role.

You'll learn the FIZZ portfolio across wine and wine-style products, aperitifs, spirits, beer, functional beverages and ready-to-drink products.

We want you to understand not only what something tastes like, but how it's made, who made it, what makes it interesting, how to serve it and who you might recommend it to.

You'll be expected to

- Taste and learn new products as they arrive
- Stay current on new releases and producers
- Understand key ingredients, production methods and flavour profiles
- Translate technical product information into approachable customer recommendations
- Help maintain accurate internal product notes and customer-facing product information
- Share knowledge with the rest of the retail team

You don't need to arrive as an expert in non-alcoholic beverage. Curiosity and a genuine interest in wine, food, beverage and hospitality are more important.

Creative + Product Storytelling

You'll also help translate what's happening in the shop into simple, thoughtful creative assets.

Depending on your strengths, this may include:

- Photographing or capturing new arrivals and products
- Creating simple Canva assets for products,

launches and in-store moments
- Developing shelf talkers, tasting notes and other product materials
- Helping prepare product information for newsletters and social content
- Supporting merchandising and visual storytelling in the shop
- Identifying products, producers and new arrivals worth featuring

You don't need to be a professional designer or content creator, but you should have a good visual eye and feel comfortable working within an established brand.

Who We're Looking For

You'll likely be a great fit if you:

- Have experience in specialty retail, wine/beverage, restaurants or hospitality
- Are genuinely interested in food, wine and beverage culture
- Are warm and confident with customers without being sales-y
- Are organized and comfortable managing detailed operational tasks
- Can work independently and make good decisions
- Notice problems and take initiative to solve them
- Are comfortable working with inventory, spreadsheets and retail systems
- Have strong attention to detail — particularly around quantities, pricing and orders
- Have a good visual eye and basic comfort with tools such as Canva
- Communicate clearly and follow things through
- Want responsibility and ownership rather than simply being given a shift task list
- Are comfortable receiving deliveries and lifting cases of product

Experience with Shopify, inventory management, purchasing or Canva is an asset, but not required.

Schedule + Compensation

3–4 shifts per week, including regular weekend availability.

$20–$23/hour, based on experience.

We're looking for someone who can grow into meaningful ownership of the retail side of FIZZ. As the business grows, there is room for this role to grow in responsibility alongside it.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14.0 – 28.0 per week

Benefits

- Versatile schedule
- Store discount

Work Location: In person
