Packaging Production Mechanic
We are a pharmaceutical manufacturing company that makes products people use in their everyday lives. Reporting to the Operations Manager at 4th Ave the Packaging Production Mechanic will be responsible for setting up, modifying, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing several different types of machinery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
- Maintain andoptimizemachinery, includingcomponentfabrication, and equipment testing
- Detect equipment irregularities,identifyroot causes, and proactively implement preventative and corrective actions to reduce downtime
- Conduct and document scheduled preventive maintenance using condition monitoring tools
- Assistin equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and calibration
- Complete maintenance logs, testing records, and compliance documentation
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, packagers, clients, and managers to coordinate activities and report issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address facility-related concerns andoptimizeprocesses
- Work independently on complex issues using sound judgment and selectingappropriate methodsand tools for resolution
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations ensuring a safe work environment
- Update spreadsheets for parts on all equipment
- Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components such as motors, gears,
belts etc.
- Assistingin theinitialsetup of production jobs ormaking adjustmentswhenrequired
- Working towards continuous improvement of the machinery
- Adhering to safety guidelines and industry regulations by wearing (PPE) and following lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures when working with energized machines
- Ensuring machines are calibrated foroptimalperformance,accuracyand quality control
- Helpassistwith operator training of mechanical equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 diploma, post-secondary education with millwright certification is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a production workplace preferably inapackagingenvironment
- Excellent teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of GMP’s and SOP’s
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts is an asset
- Ability to work all shifts
Compensation:
- Starting at $25.93/hr
SCHEDULE:
- Weekends: Friday–Sunday,6:00am – 6:30pm
