PSR Enterprise Architect – TM Forum / eTOM
Role Overview
We are seeking a PSR Enterprise Architect / TM Forum Architect to design, govern, and validate the end-to-end Product-Service-Resource (PSR) catalog model across the customer journey from Day -1 through Day 2, covering Buy, Get, Pay, and Support.
The role will partner with CUSTOMER Enterprise Architecture as a Future Mode of Operations (FMO) advisor, ensuring PSR and solution designs align with target Business, Data, Application, Integration, and Process Architecture.
The ideal candidate will have strong telecommunications architecture experience with TM Forum ODA, eTOM, Open APIs, PSR modeling, catalog governance, CPQ, order decomposition, fulfillment, billing, and assurance.
Key Responsibilities
PSR Architecture & Governance
- Design and govern the end-to-end PO → PS → CFS → RFS → RS model for each product family.
- Define and enforce relationship types, cardinality, characteristics, dependencies, lifecycle, and decomposition rules.
- Validate catalog structural integrity in a governed authoring environment before publication.
- Apply approved PSR Governance Best Practices and Mandatory vs. Optional characteristic methodology consistently across Day 0 and Day 1.
- Ensure product, commercial, pricing, packaging, service, platform, infrastructure, and resource-owner inputs are reconciled into a single PSR blueprint.
Day 0 – Buy / Quote-to-Order
- Define PO/PS commercial and technical characteristics exposed to CPQ for guided selling, pricing, configuration, and qualification.
- Design real-time service qualification and quote flows using:
- TMF620 – Product Catalog
- TMF645 – Service Qualification
- TMF648 – Quote Management
- TMF651 – Agreement Management
- Define commercial characteristics that provide a common source for pricing, order decomposition, fulfillment, and billing.
- Validate Day 0 processes, data, and operations against PSR governance standards.
Day 1 – Get / Order-to-Fulfillment
- Define how a signed Product Order decomposes into Service Orders and Resource Orders.
- Define CFS/RFS/RS decomposition, build-sequence dependencies, and fulfillment rules.
- Align orchestration with:
- TMF622 – Product Ordering
- TMF641 – Service Ordering
- TMF640 – Service Activation & Configuration
- TMF652 – Resource Order Management
- Ensure commercial characteristics used during Buy remain available as the source for decomposition and billing.
- Validate Day 1 processes, data, and operations against the approved PSR model.
Day 1 → Day 2 Reconciliation
- Define the reconciliation gate linking the contracted line item to the corresponding Install Base Item / Configuration Item (CI).
- Ensure required identifiers and relationships support Alarm, Incident, and Case correlation.
- Align Day 0/Day 1 data with existing Day 2 assurance architecture.
TM Forum & eTOM Alignment
- Cross-reference PSR additions against:
- TMF620, TMF622, TMF633, TMF640, TMF641, TMF642, TMF645, TMF648, TMF651, TMF652.
- Map processes to TM Forum eTOM Level 2/3 across:
- CRM
- SM&O;
- RM&O;
- Extend the existing TM Forum ODA Value Stream Framework and Business Architecture for Day 0 and Day 1.
- Maintain traceability:
Business Capability → Value Stream → eTOM Process → Application → API → Data → PSR Application & Integration Architecture
- Extend the existing 39-component runtime artifact inventory for Day 0 and Day 1.
- Trace each component to its:
- Governing API
- PSR layer
- Interface
- Data object
- Business record produced
- Cover key records including:
- Quote, Agreement, Customer Order, Product Order, Service Order, Resource Order, Install Base Item, Configuration Item.
- Define Application Component integration architecture for:
- Day -1 Catalog Authoring
- Day 0 Buy
- Day 1 Get
- Day 2 dependencies
Process & Interaction Architecture
- Produce current-state and future-state swimlane process flows for Buy, Get, Pay, and Support.
- Create component interaction, communication, and API sequence diagrams.
- Clearly identify:
- Trigger/event
- Source application
- Target application
- API/interface
- Data exchanged
- Record created/updated
- Downstream dependency
- Demonstrate replacement of manual processes with automated API/data triggers.
Examples: Buy: Manual address lookup → TMF645 real-time qualification
Pay: Manual invoice entry → activation event → automated billing trigger
- Feed architecture outputs into CUSTOMER's CMO → FMO Capability documentation.
Product Family Onboarding
- Lead PSR onboarding for new product families.
- Reconcile inputs from Product, Commercial, Pricing, CPQ, Service, Resource, Platform, and Infrastructure teams.
- Ensure every product family passes governance validation for:
- relationships,
cardinality, characteristics, Mandatory/Optional classification, dependencies, and decomposition.
- Extend the existing PSR Primer and Governance Guide with onboarding material for Day 0 and Day 1 Product Owners.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in Telecommunications, BSS/OSS, Enterprise Architecture, or Solution Architecture.
- Solid hands-on PSR / Product-Service-Resource modeling experience.
- Strong knowledge of TM Forum ODA and eTOM.
- Hands-on experience with TM Forum Open APIs, particularly:
- TMF620, 622, 633, 640, 641, 642, 645, 648, 651, 652.
