Position: QA Engineer

Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days in Downtown Toronto

Role Overview We are seeking a QA Engineer with experience testing enterprise applications within the insurance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing automated and manual test strategies, with a robust focus on Java, Selenium, and Cucumber. The role will work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver for web-based insurance applications.
- Create and execute BDD test scenarios using Cucumber/Gherkin, translating business requirements into clear and reusable automated tests.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing across insurance applications and workflows.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, analyze requirements and user stories, prepare test plans and test cases, and provide QA status,



defect reporting, and release-readiness updates.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of QA/testing experience, with hands-on experience in enterprise application testing; insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver for building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Proven experience with Cucumber, BDD, and Gherkin, including developing feature files and step definitions.
- Strong understanding of API testing, SQL/database validation, regression testing, and integration testing, with experience working in CI/CD environments.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and defect-management skills.
