The Role The Quality Inspector (a.k.a.
Electrical Heater
Tester) is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying the quality and performance of Ruffneck, Norseman, and Commercial Heaters. This role ensures all products meet applicable electrical, safety, quality, and manufacturing standards prior to shipment.
The Electrical Heater
Tester works closely with Production, Quality,
and Engineering teams to support efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Perform electrical testing and inspections on heaters to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Review job travelers, work orders, drawings, and production documentation to verify product configuration and testing requirements.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and other measuring devices, to accurately measure voltage, resistance, and current.
- Complete quality control inspections and testing records accurately and efficiently.
- Verify heaters are free from defects, damage, and assembly errors prior to release.
- Identify, document, and report product quality issues, discrepancies, or non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Prioritize testing activities based on production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Maintain testing equipment, tools, and workstations in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Follow all safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and established operating practices when conducting tests and inspections.
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or imminent hazards are identified.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of testing procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KnowledgeQualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of electrical experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of quality inspection, testing, or quality assurance experience.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience safely using electrical measuring instruments, including multimeters and related testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools and basic testing equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and metric measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, production-focused environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and remain standing for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
