If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you, as our Chalk River location is looking for a Radiation Protection (RP) Supervisor to lead and supervise Radiation Surveyors, champion safe work practices, provide coaching and performance oversight, and coordinate key interfaces between operational facilities, project teams, Health Physicists, and other supervisors. What you will be doing!

- Managing the utilization of RP Staff to achieve RP project requirements and milestones.
- Ensuring correct RP instruments and techniques are being used to support their area and meet the requirements of the Radiation Protection Programs.
- Providing advice on RP resource utilization and the latest technological developments in radiation protection.
- Monitoring, directing and evaluating the performance of RP personnel.
- Overseeing personnel time management, staffing allocation and arranging overtime resources as required by operational needs.
- Forecasting staffing needs and assisting with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, initial and ongoing training.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

- Education
- Grade 12 graduate with a good understanding of (results in) Math, Science and English.

- Experience

- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Group 1 Radiation Surveyor.

- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong knowledge of applying radiation protection principles, measurements, and contamination control.
- Well-developed leadership and communication skills, including the ability to develop a team-oriented, team-oriented work environment in a unionized environment.




- Demonstrated ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual or hazardous conditions and to lead others in such conditions.

- Security Clearance Eligibility Required

- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions

- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
