Nurse in Charge Contract: Term – October 16, 2026 Hours: Part-time, 0.5 FTE Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) Health Spending Account: $1,100 Nurse in Charge (NIC) Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year for Community Health Nurses (CHN Level 4) Remote Certified Practice Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year ($23.00/day) Extensive Health and Dental Benefits: Offered day 1 of employment Robust Pension Plan As Nurse in Charge, you will – provide leadership of a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services within a First Nations community in program areas of community and/or public health, primary care, and home care through promotion and maintenance of the health of individuals, family groups, communities, and populations that value the principles of primary health care and focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health, as well as a focus on curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation, and supportive or palliative care.



You will provide skilled guidance and assistance to community leaders and other community health care team members in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for First Nations partners and communities. Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or approved training in obstetrics, mental health, or some other specialty. Two (2) years of nursing experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNM).

Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License Nurse In Charge, Remote must be remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM.

The Pay

Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
