Optima Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre is a diverse and inclusive mental health practice providing counselling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Our practice has particular experience working with people of colour, racialized communities, immigrants, newcomers, and individuals navigating cultural, family, relationship, and life-transition concerns.

We are currently seeking experienced Independent Contractors with an MSW and current RSW designation to join our growing practice.

We are especially interested in clinicians with experience in one or both of the following areas:

- Working with high-functioning autistic children, adolescents, and young adults, including concerns related to anxiety, emotional regulation, social relationships, self-esteem, school challenges, life transitions, and executive functioning.
- Providing couples therapy and supporting couples experiencing communication difficulties, conflict, relationship stress, separation concerns, cultural or family pressures, and other relationship challenges.

What We Offer This is an independent contractor position offering considerable flexibility. Contractors may choose their own hours and shifts based on their availability and the needs of the practice. Opportunities may include daytime, weekday evening, and weekend appointments.

Compensation ranges from $80–$100 per clinical hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and area of specialization.

Qualifications and Requirements

Successful candidates should have

- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree




- Current registration in good standing as an RSW with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
- Relevant psychotherapy/counselling knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience working with autistic children, teens, or young adults and/or experience providing couples therapy
- Excellent organizational, communication, documentation, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating professionally with the practice
- Availability during weekdays, evenings, and some weekends as required
- Current professional liability insurance
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Comfortable using electronic scheduling and clinical documentation systems

Experience using the Jane App practice management system is considered an asset. Fluency in a second language is also considered a strong asset, particularly for clinicians interested in working with culturally diverse and newcomer communities.

Independent Contractor Opportunity

This position is structured as an independent contractor arrangement. Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own professional registration, liability insurance, required documentation, and other obligations associated with independent practice.
