Smitty's Market Mall is looking for an energetic individual who can keep up in a busy work enviromment to join our team. Hours will vary, day shifts and night shifts. Approx. 20 hours per week. Must be available Mondays and flexible. Shifts will range from 9:30-4, 11-7 and 4-8.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale), ensuring proper entry and order accuracy
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation quality and adhering to food safety standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting overall restaurant flow
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple tables efficiently while providing excellent guest services
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to handle food safely, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and understanding of basic math for transactions
- Experience in food industry roles such as serving or cashiering is advantageous
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining professionalism
