Join the team at Corley Sports Excellence in Listowel as a Retail Sales and Service Associate! If you are dependable, enthusiastic, and want to learn how a local sporting goods shop runs, this is the perfect entry-level opportunity. In this role, you will welcome customers, learn our retail point-of-sale system, keep our sales floor stocked with the latest sports gear, and get hands-on training to operate our skate sharpening equipment.

This is a part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week, primarily during weekdays with some evening and weekend shifts) offering paid training in a supportive and active environment.

Duties

- Greet customers warmly as they enter the shop and help them find the right sporting goods, apparel, and footwear
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system to ring up sales and handle routine transactions accurately
- Learn and perform skate sharpening safely and accurately on our shop equipment (complete, step-by-step training provided)
- Receive incoming inventory shipments, unpack boxes, check packing slips, and tag products
- Restock shelves, hang apparel, and maintain clean, organized product displays throughout the sales floor
- Answer basic customer questions over the phone and in person regarding store hours, services, and product availability
- Keep the checkout counter, service area, and store floor tidy and organized throughout your shift




- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the shop runs smoothly during daily retail hours

Requirements

- No previous retail or equipment experience required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are top priorities
- Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor when speaking with customers
- Basic comfort with learning practical, hands-on tasks (full training provided for skate sharpening and register use)
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently during assigned weekday hours
- Basic math and computer comfort for operating the point-of-sale register
- Ability to handle standard physical retail tasks, including being on your feet and lifting merchandise boxes
- An interest or background in sports (such as hockey, baseball, or softball) is a bonus, but not required
