Job Summary The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for creating a warm, attentive, and professional experience for every customer who interacts with MacArthur’s Flower Shop Ltd. This role supports daily sales operations by assisting customers, taking accurate orders, and contributing to a calm, organized retail environment—even during busy periods. Retail Sales Associates represent the voice and values of the shop and play a key role in building customer trust and satisfaction.

This is a bilingual position requiring the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members in both English and French.

Availability & Scheduling

- Weekend availability is required
- 32–40 hours per week offered
- Availability during peak seasons and holidays is required
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including opening and closing shifts, is expected
- Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly in person and on the phone
- Assist customers in selecting floral arrangements, gifts, and services
- Ask thoughtful questions to understand customer needs and occasions
- Clearly explain options, pricing, timing, and care instructions
- Enter orders accurately and confirm details to avoid misunderstandings
- Handle customer concerns with care and escalate when needed

Requirements

- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain store presentation




- Customer service or retail experience preferred (training provided)
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods

Order Intake & Communication

- Accurately record customer requests, delivery information, and special instructions
- Set clear and realistic expectations with customers
- Communicate effectively with the design and operations teams
- Flag potential issues early (timing, availability, complexity)
- Support smooth handoffs from sales to design and delivery

Shop Environment & Team Support

- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house space
- Assist with merchandising, restocking, and presentation
- Support teammates during busy periods with flexibility and teamwork
- Follow shop standards and procedures consistently
- Represent MacArthur’s values through respectful, professional behavior

High Pressure & Peak Periods

- Remain calm, focused, and courteous during high volume days
- Follow direction and priorities set by the Retail Sales Manager
- Adapt to changing needs with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
- Support customer experience without sacrificing accuracy or clarity

- Customers feel welcomed, understood, and confident in their order
- Orders are accurate and communicated clearly to the team

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
