Our Ottawa Test Engineering
Team is offering an exciting Co-op opportunity for a university student to join us for an 8-12-month term. This role provides hands-on experience in RF and semiconductor test engineering, ideal for students passionate about electronics, coding, and lab work. This Co-op position offers a comprehensive introduction to RF and analog integrated circuit testing. At Skyworks, your work will directly support the development and validation of RF and analog semiconductor components used in cutting-edge Wi-Fi wireless systems. The test solutions you help create will be deployed in our Volume Production Facility, ensuring product quality and reliability at scale. Your contributions will influence the performance of products used in smartphones, Wi-Fi and IoT devices, automotive systems, and infrastructure - giving you a unique opportunity to see your engineering skills make a tangible impact in the connected world.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain test engineering code in C++ for automated test equipment
Optimize, improve and refactor existing code into modular format
Conduct lab testing of highly integrated Wi-Fi Front end modules, using custom automated setups
Analyze and present test results to test engineering and operations teams
Support new test designs and characterization activities
Collaborate with full-time engineers on ongoing projects
Help deliver validated test solutions to Operations and the Volume Production Facility
Required Qualitifications
Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in C++, or similar coding language
Familiarity with a contemporary scripting or coding language is a plus
Ability at working with various AI agents
Interest in RF/microwave measurement and testing
Experience with RF/microwave lab equipment and techniques
Familiarity or experience with Wi-Fi and associated standards is a plus
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); ability to learn internal tools quickly
Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
Effective communication and documentation abilities The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
