Compensation
57,100.00 - 107,200.00 CAD Annual
Purpose
Responsible for helping customers succeed while achieving individual and team sales and profit objectives. This role delivers exceptional business-to-business (B2B) sales consultation, account management, customer service, and value-added solutions that differentiate Sysco in the marketplace. The position is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of independent Healthcare and Senior Living accounts, consisting of approximately 75 customers and $18 million in annual sales.
Responsibilities
- Drive business development activities for independent Healthcare and Senior Living customers within the assigned territory.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to expand product adoption and leveraging team-selling strategies.
- Develop and deliver sales proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations to key decision-makers.
- Execute National Sales Team strategies and collaborate on initiatives to secure new business and regain lost opportunities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve customer profitability and account performance.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, customer activity records, and contact information within Sysco's CRM platform.
- Support quarterly business reviews with customer headquarters to evaluate performance, identify growth opportunities, and improve profitability.
- Ensure customer compliance with contract requirements and develop action plans aligned with Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
- Provide consultative support through market insights, industry trends, and integration opportunities with Sysco Specialty Companies, including FreshPoint, European Imports, SOTF, and Buckhead.
- Partner with the Customer Experience Team to resolve and escalate customer concerns as needed.
- Coordinate resources and activities for targeted accounts while ensuring timely follow-up on commitments and action items.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer operations and provide value-added products, services, tools, and insights that support business success.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across all regional departments.
- Utilize Sysco 360 and other CRM tools to manage customer engagement, sales activity, and performance metrics.
- Comply with Sysco's Food Safety policies and procedures to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote safe work practices, promptly report hazards, incidents, and environmental concerns, and contribute to a culture of workplace safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven ability to build customer relationships, drive sales growth, and manage strategic accounts.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze profitability and develop effective business plans.
- Demonstrated success in consultative selling, negotiation, networking, and influencing decision-makers.
- Solid understanding of business operations and customer environments within Healthcare, Senior Living, or foodservice industries.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts, including profit and loss, food costs, and expense management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both internal and external audiences.
- High level of business acumen, professionalism, and customer focus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Proficiency in CRM systems used for sales planning, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the interpretation of reports and data-driven insights.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to independently manage time and priorities.
Education
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience managing customer relationships, account growth, or territory sales is considered an asset.
Travel Requirements
- Travel within the assigned territory as required (up to 25%).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable access to a vehicle required.
