Job Title: Scrum Master

Location: Edmonton, AB – Remote, with occasional onsite travel as required

Employment Type: Contract – 12 Months, with possible 6-month extension

Approved Work Hours: 1,798 hours / 36.25 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Scrum Masters to support Agile product delivery and digital transformation initiatives across multiple projects. The successful candidate will coach cross-functional teams, facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, support product owners, and improve sprint execution and team effectiveness.

The role also requires robust AI fluency and process automation awareness, including practical use of Generative AI and agentic tools to enhance delivery, documentation, backlog management, reporting, and team workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Coach and mentor cross-functional teams on Agile principles, practices, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, product demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Help teams establish realistic estimates, sprint commitments, and delivery goals.
- Identify and remove blockers, dependencies, distractions, and impediments affecting sprint delivery.
- Support Product Owners with backlog planning, release planning, roadmaps, reporting, and prioritization.
- Maintain and report delivery metrics including velocity, sprint burndown, backlog health, progress, and quality indicators.
- Promote transparency, collaboration, accountability, and self-organization across delivery teams.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and effective communication between Product Owners, delivery teams, and stakeholders.
- Support digital service delivery activities such as user research and usability testing.
- Demonstrate practical use of Generative AI and agentic tools for meeting preparation, documentation, analysis, backlog support, reporting, and automation.
- Apply prompt design, RAG, and AI-output evaluation practices to assess accuracy, risk, hallucination, privacy, and sensitivity.




- Build AI-augmented routines that improve Agile delivery and reduce administrative overhead.
- Apply process automation concepts such as workflow automation, digital forms, structured intake, status reporting, and agentic process orchestration.
- Translate technical changes and automation impacts into clear communications for business stakeholders, Product Owners, delivery teams, and end users.
- Support CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, and observability practices in collaboration with technical teams.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
- 12+ years coaching teams on Agile methodologies, facilitating ceremonies, and fostering continuous improvement and collaboration.
- 13+ years leading and facilitating Agile ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, product demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- 13+ years working within Agile development environments.
- 15+ years delivering training sessions through web-based interactive technologies such as Microsoft Teams.
- 1+ year guiding Agile teams toward accountability and self-organization, including helping teams integrate AI into their ways of working while maintaining human judgment.
- 14+ years implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability.
- 3+ year personally using AI tools to enhance Scrum Master responsibilities such as meeting preparation, documentation, reporting, backlog analysis, communication, and Agile delivery support.
- 15+ years planning work aligned with Product Owner priorities, including sprint and backlog planning.
- 16+ years working with software development processes, best practices, standards, tools,



and policies.
- 14+ years working in North American public-sector environments, including municipal, provincial, or federal organizations.
- 2+ years working with teams applying UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches.

Preferred Skills

- Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of AI-enabled Agile delivery and process automation.
- Experience with backlog management, delivery metrics, roadmaps, and release planning.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams involving Product, UX, Service Design, and technical disciplines.
- Strong stakeholder communication, facilitation, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience supporting continuous delivery and modern software engineering practices.
