About the Opportunity

We are a well-established and growing transportation company seeking an accounting professional to join our finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety and wants meaningful ownership over the accounting function, rather than a narrow slice of it.

Reporting to the Group Controller, you will support the full spectrum of accounting operations, from day-to-day transactional work to higher-level reporting and analysis. This is an important position on our finance team: it requires someone who can be trusted with real responsibility, who brings sound judgment to their work, and who can be relied upon to identify issues and follow through without close supervision.

Our environment moves quickly and priorities shift often, so we are looking for someone who can adapt easily, stay organized under changing demands, and bring a genuinely analytical mindset to their work — someone who understands the numbers well enough to know when something warrants a closer look.

Strong performance in this role may, over time, create opportunities for additional scope and responsibility, including as a resource for the accounting team on our internal systems.

Within the next year, our team will relocate to a new facility in Acheson, AB, as part of the company's continued investment in its long-term operations.

What You'll Be Doing

- Delivering full-cycle accounting and administrative support to the Group Controller
- Preparing and maintaining account reconciliations
- Building and maintaining recurring accounting schedules




- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Calculating sales/staff commissions
- Preparing clear, well-organized reports for management review
- Assisting with year-end close preparation
- Supporting ad hoc projects and requests from the Controller
- Serving as a resource for accounting-related questions on our core software platform, as experience develops

What We're Looking For

- 8 years of solid, progressive accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience across payroll, AP/AR, account reconciliations, and treasury
- A quick, confident learner when it comes to new systems and technology — comfortable adapting to an all-in-one platform that combines CRM, operations, and accounting functions
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are a must
- Experience using AI tools to work more efficiently is an asset
- Skilled at designing and formatting reports so they are clear and presentation-ready for management
- Solid analytical instincts, with the judgment to know when something needs a second look
- Comfortable working independently, making decisions, and managing ambiguity without requiring detailed instruction
- A dependable, self-directed work style, paired with genuine curiosity and a drive to improve how things are done




- Comfortable working to deadlines and taking ownership of your work

Additional Details

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- You will be joining a finance team of six
- Standard business hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- This position is subject to a criminal background check
