Senior Analyst, Workday Security & Access Governance
We are seeking a hands-on Workday Security specialist to support the configuration, administration, troubleshooting, testing, and governance of Workday security across production and non-production environments.
This role is ideal for someone with strong practical experience working within the Workday Security who enjoys solving complex access issues and partnering with functional and technology teams. You will independently manage day-to-day Workday security activities while partnering with senior team members and the broader Workday team on more complex or strategic security decisions.
You will work closely with Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Cybersecurity, Identity and Access Management, Audit, and enterprise project teams to implement secure, scalable, and well-controlled Workday solutions.
What You'll Do
- Administer and configure Workday Security across production and non-production environments, including security groups, role assignments, Domain Security Policies, Business Process Security Policies, user-based security, and constrained security groups.
- Troubleshoot complex access and security issues, investigating missing or inappropriate access, role-assignment issues, security-policy conflicts, and other Workday security problems.
- Implement and test security changes related to Workday projects, enhancements, integrations, business process changes, and platform releases, including security impact assessments and post-production validation.
- Support access governance and risk management through access reviews, privileged-access reviews, role and security-group assessments, segregation-of-duties analysis, and remediation of identified risks.
- Support Workday authentication and access controls in partnership with Identity and Access Management and Cybersecurity teams, including related access and lifecycle processes.
- Support tenant and environment security,
including tenant access, refresh activities, test-user access, security validation, and remediation following environment changes.
- Develop and maintain security reporting and documentation used to monitor access, investigate issues, support controls, and provide audit evidence.
- Partner with Workday functional, technology, audit, and business teams to translate security requirements into practical Workday configurations and provide guidance on security implications and access decisions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve Workday security configuration, access governance, testing, monitoring, reporting, and operational processes.
What You Bring
Must Have;
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and administering Workday Security, including security groups, Domain Security Policies, Business Process Security Policies, and role assignments.
- Experience troubleshooting Workday access and security issues and translating business requirements into appropriate security configurations.
- Experience implementing and testing Workday security changes supporting projects, enhancements, business process changes, or releases.
- Experience supporting access governance activities, such as access reviews, privileged access, role validation, or access remediation.
- Solid analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and partner effectively with Workday and technology teams.
Nice to Have;
- Workday Pro Security, Workday Platform Administrator, or another relevant Workday certification.
- Experience using Kainos Smart Test and Kainos Smart Audit for Workday security testing, controls monitoring, regression testing, or audit support.
- Experience working with Identity and Access Management platforms and processes, including joiner, mover, and leaver access lifecycle activities.
This role is primarily focused on hands-on Workday Security administration and configuration. It may not be the right fit if your experience is primarily in:
- Cybersecurity, Identity and Access Management, or GRC without hands-on Workday Security configuration experience.
