Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Project Management Office Strategy and Transformation, Office of the CAO Status: Regular Full Time The Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO) supports the successful delivery of strategic and transformational initiatives across the Region of Peel. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as an integrator, facilitator, and analytical specialist, helping bridge the gap between organizational priorities and project solutions. Working closely with project managers, business leaders, and stakeholders, you will lead business analysis activities that support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs, services, processes, and technology solutions.
This role requires robust analytical thinking , stakeholder engagement , facilitation , and problem-solving skills to ensure project outcomes align with business needs and deliver measurable value. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, priorities, opportunities, and challenges. Support the development of business cases required for project approval and investment decisions.
Facilitate the identification, planning, measurement, and tracking of project benefits to support value realization. Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements using a variety of techniques, including interviews, workshops, process reviews, and facilitated sessions. Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Gather, model, and analyze data to support decision-making and project deliverables. Break down complex business problems and ambiguous requirements into practical, implementable solutions. Develop and maintain process maps, business workflows, data models, diagrams, and other analytical documentation.
Evaluate solution options and provide recommendations based on business needs, risks, costs, and expected outcomes. Support project governance activities, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning. Contribute to organizational change management activities that support the successful adoption of project solutions.
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance,
Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline, combined with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects, business transformation initiatives, or process improvement efforts. Strong understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and validating business and technical requirements. Knowledge of project and program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Scrum, and Kanban. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, and Planner, as well as Visio and Power BI.
Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business and operational challenges.
Experience supporting organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Certified Business Analysis
Professional (CBAP) designation. Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or equivalent continuous improvement credentials.
The Corporate Project Management
Office supports enterprise projects and initiatives that advance organizational priorities and improve service delivery.
