• Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB OR Houston, TX (Hybrid)
• Duration: 12+ Months Contract-Possible extension/conversion
• Pay: CAD $60-63/hr on T4 | CAD$70–75/hr on INC
• Travel: 10–25% project site travel
Job Summary The Contract Conformance Specialist III is accountable for the day-to-day conformance responsibilities for executed contractual arrangements associated with assigned capital and maintenance projects.
The Contract Conformance Specialist manages the flow of documentation and communication related to the contractual relationship between the company and contractor to ensure contractual obligations are met. The position facilitates the timely identification, communication, and resolution of contractual matters.
The role interacts frequently with third parties and internal departments including legal, project management, construction management, business development, system planning, procurement, contract management, project controls, and other functional groups.
Assigned projects or programs may have a consolidated total of up to $150MM per year. Assigned projects or programs are typically 1–2 years in duration and may include elevated complexity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with Project Execution contracting strategy.
- Facilitate preparation of contract exhibits, including scope, specifications, pricing, and special instructions.
- Assist in writing technical contract language describing scope, pricing, and special instructions.
- Coordinate with the contract management group specialist to ensure project-specific functional requirements and contractor clarifications and qualifications are incorporated into final contract documents.
- Support project management in contractor contract negotiations during contract bidding and formation phases.
- Coordinate the project team in development of a project-specific communication plan.
- Participate in and assist with training related to contract conformance for team and third-party personnel.
- Review contractor-submitted documents for compliance with the contract and provide notification of non-compliance and deviations from baselines.
- Maintain contractor correspondence and documentation logs.
- Prepare and transmit company-generated correspondence with appropriate project team concurrence.
- Manage the change order process, including change order logs, change directives, contractor-requested changes, and approved change orders.
- Prepare meeting agendas, participate in person in contract-related meetings, and take and distribute meeting notes.
- Establish and implement project contract document control and retention systems in compliance with company procedures.
- Review contractor-submitted invoices for compliance with requirements, distribute them for review and approval, and monitor them through payment.
- Coordinate with the project team, CCRL, contract conformance manager, and legal lead as required to resolve contractual issues.
- Request, monitor, and track service request orders for project outside service providers throughout the project duration.
- Coordinate contract close-out with the project team to ensure compliance with related contracts.
- Close out project contract files and submit them for retention in compliance with company procedures.
- Prepare for and provide assistance during company and external compliance audits.
- Maintain ongoing communication regarding project contractual requirements, practices, and issues, including weekly status updates on the CCS Flash Report.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, legal, technical, or business discipline with a minimum of 6–10 years of experience in legal, engineering, construction, contract administration, and/or contract conformance of construction-related projects, preferably in the gas pipeline industry.
OR
- Associate's degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in legal, engineering, construction, contract administration, and/or contract conformance of construction-related projects, preferably in the gas pipeline industry.
- Specific knowledge and experience in contracting processes and issues related to energy industry construction projects.
- Fundamental understanding of the intent, context, purpose, and utilization of documents typically included in or required by a contract.
